How Long Does it Take to See Results with Invisalign

Why is it when different people choose to use Invisalign that some patients only need 20 sets of clear aligners whereas some patients need about 70 sets of clear aligners? How many sets of aligners are needed will depend on the severity of the case. More simple orthodontic treatment may only require approximately 20 to 30 sets of aligners. Whereas more severe cases will need between 60 to 70 sets of aligners.

The more aligners the better?
Each set of Invisalign aligners are designed by the orthodontist to create movement of the teeth. How much the teeth shift into the position and how long it takes will depend on the treatment plan designed uniquely for individual patients.

How many sets of aligners are considered normal?
There is not a specific number of aligners that are considered normal, the number of aligners prescribed will depend on the treatment plan designed by the orthodontist. The length of time for treatment will also be linked to the number of aligners used.

After how many sets of aligners will the results be visible?
Each orthodontic case is different so it’s difficult to say when results will be visible. In some cases patients start to see changes after 1 month and others may not see visible changes till 3 months. As for how many sets of aligners will it take to see results this is also hard to say as some cases are more complex than others.

Choosing a professional orthodontist and wearing the clear aligners for at least 22 hours a day and changing the aligners every 2 weeks as instructed is important during treatment
